Is the BG Remover really free? What's the catch?
The web version is genuinely free for up to 5 images per session. There's no signup, no credit card, no upload. The Pro version (one-time $29) unlocks unlimited batch processing, marketplace presets, drop shadows, and removes the watermark. We make money on Pro, not by selling your data.
How is this different from Remove.bg or Photoroom?
Three big differences: (1) Pricing — they charge $9-200/month, we charge once. (2) Privacy — they upload your images to their servers, we run AI on your device. (3) Suite — we're building a full set of creative tools, not just one. If you process more than 5 images per month, Workdesk pays for itself in weeks.
"Reserve a license" — what does that actually mean?
You join the early-access list at the launch price (capped at $29 Pro / $79 Studio). When we ship the paid version in 4-6 weeks, you get a payment link with the locked-in price. No charge today, no commitment — just the right to buy at this price when it's ready. After launch, prices go up.
What does "all future tools included" mean for Studio?
Everything we ship under the Workdesk brand — Upscaler, Compressor, Object Eraser, Transcriber, Smart Crop, and any new tools we add — is included for Studio license holders forever. No upgrade fees, no expiration. We'll ship 1-2 new tools per month based on what users want.
Will there be a desktop app?
Yes — desktop apps for Windows and Mac are coming after we validate the web tools. Studio license holders will get desktop versions included free. The web tools work in any modern browser today and are perfect for most use cases.
Can I get a refund if it doesn't work for me?
Yes. We'll offer a 14-day no-questions-asked refund on every paid tool. We're confident in the quality, but if it doesn't fit your workflow, you get your money back.
